This session on Baywork: A Regional Collaborative Focused on Utility Workforce; will introduce the audience to an innovative collaborative that focuses on workforce issues in water and wastewater utilities. This is for utilities by utilities and it will:
* Introduce the Baywork Collaborative, our roadmap and history
* Explain our strategy for Candidate Development and Outreach and offer tools for you to use
* Highlight innovations for training staff and show you how Baywork does it
* Review our collaborative projects that you can benefit from
* Feature areas of the Baywork website you will find useful

Biography:

Catherine Curtis received a Masters Degree in Organization Development from Sonoma State University. She also earned an MBTI certificate, a Prosci Change Management Certificate, an Instructor Certificate from the National Career Development Association, and completed Leadership San Francisco in 2016.With over 20 years of experience in workforce and organization development, Catherine is Vice-Chair of Baywork, a consortium of 34 utilities in the San Francisco Bay Area region, Workforce Reliability Manager for San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, National Workforce Strategy Committee Member, WEF, CWEA, and IWA member.

John Rowe

Development & Application of Pretreatment Facility Inspection Program

Biography:

Dr. John Rowe is an A level operator in water and wastewater treatment plant operations. He has been an operator and educator for 32-years in the operations of water and wastewater treatment facilities. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in Biological Sciences and has a PhD in Environmental Sustainability and a PhD in Biological Sciences. He has managed wastewater treatment and water treatment facilities as well as industrial pretreatment operations. He was recognized in 2003 and 2005 by winning the National Public Private Partnership Award for innovation by optimizing treatment plant operations and by implementing water operator educational programs.
