According to a recent ACEEE study, residents of manufactured homes spend nearly twice as much on energy per square foot compared to individuals residing in site-built homes. Inspired to expand services to this underserved market, WECC developed a program offering a combination of direct install measures with targeted duct sealing. Since 2015, WECC has served more than 500 manufactured home residents in Michigan and Wisconsin. Through the use of contractors trained in delivery of quality services and providing excellent service, the program realized measured energy savings and an average CFM50 air leakage reduction was 370CFM50 per home for approximately $550 per home. The session will also present results from a utility program using the RFP process to procure low cost heat pumps for manufactured homes. You'll hear how they did it, the energy savings, and how Nest thermostats were used as remote QC devices.
