Asthma & Environmental Control: Is There Really a Wizard Behind the Curtain? Understanding This Disease & How to Manage It With Effective Home Intervention Strategies

Monday, April 23
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Location: Salon J & I (5th Floor)
CEUs: BPI, InterNachi, NARI, ASHI

This session will cover the different types of asthma and the top environmental triggers. You’ll learn the basics of how to perform an asthma home environmental assessment for Medicaid reimbursement, hospitals, private practitioners, clinics or community groups and how this service is one of the newest business opportunities for the Healthy Home evaluator. Asthma is one of the top health risks in Healthy Home assessment. The number of people with asthma continues to grow. Currently, 1 in 12 people have this chronic environmental disease. Of course there will be interactive exercises that will include how to communicate about asthma to occupants without making medical claims.

This is the third session in a 4-part workshop series, intended to build upon the learning of the previous session, but are still independent learning opportunities for anyone who is interested in the impact of the indoor environment of homes.
