Bio: Marisa is a Research Support Librarian at UCLA Library, where she is the Reference Coordinator for Humanities and Social Sciences Division of the Charles E. Young Reserach Library and the liaison to the English and History departments. She received her Master’s of Science in Information Studies (MSIS) at the University of Texas at Austin and has a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design from the University of Maine. She holds her B.A. in History from Haverford College, where she focused on postcolonial studies and the role that cultural contact zones play in establishing hegemony. She's currently interested in mentorship and the role of community building for people of color in white dominated spaces.
