After realizing the extensive content available from collaborators and the community, "Gathers Rain: A Salmon's Journey" became a four-part series of informational, community-based events throughout the period of one year, reflecting the stages of the life cycle of salmon. It was a success in participation - with attendance averaging 200 - and in collaboration, with around 15 other departments/external organizations developing and presenting content. In order to best reach our tribal community/audience, the events hosted multiple guest speakers from different organizations (including our own), video presentations, traditional dinners, and numerous youth activity stations focusing on the different stages of the salmon life cycle. Running full circle, everything was expressly planned and organized through collaboration, helping us all to accomplish the goal of bringing our tribal community closer together.
