San Juan College, located in Farmington, New Mexico changed C*lumbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day in 2015. Why change the name? How do Native Americans see C*lumbus Day? Our student-led initiative to change the name was carried out with a little help from librarians and faculty members. Learn how we collaborated to make this happen. I will share triumphs and challenges with planning our first and second Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations. Find ways you can implement Indigenous Peoples Day within your institutions..
