Biosketch: Elizabeth Anne Bankert, MA
Liz has been at Dartmouth College since 1989. She began her career in research administration in the Grants & Contracts Office, she was then given the opportunity to be part of the IRB Office where she stayed for over 10 years. Liz transferred to the Provost Office in a broader research compliance role, but she has now happily returned as the Director of the IRB.
Liz is a Past President of the Applied Research Ethics National Association (ARENA) and received the ARENA Legacy Award in 2007.
She is a member of the faculty for Public Responsibility in Medicine & Research (PRIM&R) and co-editor of the books entitled: IRB: Management and Function first published in October 2002 and the IRB Member Handbook. Liz was a member of the national committee Secretary of Health Advisory Committee for Human Research Protections (SACHRP). And is most recently pursuing the implementation of utilizing the teach- back method of communication within the research setting.
