Madelon Visintainer Baranoski, PhD, CIP, is Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine, Law and Psychiatry Division, where she has been on faculty since 1999. She has been an active member of the Yale University IRB since 2003, a Vice Chair since 2010 and Chair of two panels since 2016. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and obtained her CIP in 2012. Dr. Baranoski established, evaluated, and now directs the New Haven Jail Diversion Program and initiated Community Forensic Services at part of her research in the mental health and criminal justice interface. Her research has focused on gun violence, risk assessment of persons with mental illness, and, in the human subjects in research domain on informed consent.
