Dr. Nicky Cohen is a pediatric infectious diseases specialist by training who serves as the Deputy Associate Director for Science in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Global Migration and Quarantine. In this capacity, she reviews research and nonresearch protocols for approval at the program level, including those associated with emergency response. She also chairs one of two CDC IRBs and serves as a member on a third IRB that reviews investigational new drug protocols as well as emergency protocols.
