Sara Meeder is the Director of the Human Research Protection Office at Maimonides Medical Center, where she is redesigning Institutional Review Board infrastructure while directing the administrative IRB office. Previously, she served as the Director of Research Compliance & Ethics for The HUMAN Project at New York University, helping to define the ethical and regulatory processes necessary for big data, emerging technologies research in large cohort studies. Her mission is to ensure that the participants in all projects are protected research is run within the context of regulations and ethical standards. Sara has been involved in various areas of research in her career, with an emphasis on human subjects research, research infrastructure and ethics. Interests include consent process research, big data and emerging technologies ethics, and social justice and equity in research.
