Branch Chief, Biorepositories and Biospecimen Research Branch (BBRB)
Dr. Helen Moore is the Chief of the National Cancer Institute Biorepositories and Biospecimen Research Branch (BBRB). As Chief she sets the direction and strategic vision for the Branch and oversees multiple projects related to biobanking, including: the NCI Best Practices for Biospecimen Resources, an internationally utilized set of guiding principles for biobanking; acquisition of biospecimens for the Cancer Moonshot℠ Biobank and the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) Program; and various research programs and online tools related to the ethical, scientific, and operational aspects of biobanking. Dr. Moore speaks nationally and internationally about biobanking, publishes articles related to biobanking, and serves as expert reviewer and as member of advisory boards. Dr. Moore is a molecular biologist with a broad background in research and development. Dr. Moore earned her doctorate at Cornell University and her B.A. degree at Wellesley College.
