I have been involved in ethics of human subject research since 2000 as IRB Administrator. My interests are building capacity of researchers and IRB members in research ethics. I was involved in the development of WHO guidelines on ethical issues in Public Health Surveillance 2017, writing a chapter in the book “Research Ethics in Africa” published by SUNMeDIA Stellenbosch and a Reviewer for Programmatic Abstracts for the annual meetings of the Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIMR 2010 - 2015). Trained in Bioethics at the Joint Centre for Bioethics, University of Toronto.
I am involved in the project Coast to Coast: Transcontinental Ethics Partnership - C2C-TEP funded by EDCTP and involving three countries i.e. Gambia, Ghana and Ethiopia. Currently chairs the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital IRB, 37 Military Hospital IRB and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) IRB all in Ghana. I also serve as a member of the Ghana Atomic Energy IRB and the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research IRB.
I am a Senior Assistant Registrar at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, University of Ghana, Legon and a Patron for the Ghana Association of Administrators of Research Ethics Committees (GHAAREC).
