As in every arena of veterinary medicine, new surgical techniques and pharmacologic advancements in ophthalmology have occurred over the past five years. This session will review new techniques implemented in our field that will refresh your current understanding of veterinary ophthalmology. We will discuss new topical NSAIDs and antibiotics, glaucoma medications, and review studies comparing systemic NSAIDs. Additionally, we will briefly review new surgical options for your patients, including retinal re-attachment surgery, gonioimplants (glaucoma valves) and endolaser photocyclocoagulation for glaucoma.
