Amy Baker, DVM, DACVD
Animal Eye Specialty Clinic
During this lecture, we will discuss a systematic approach to the red eye applicable to most animal species moving from the front of the eye through the back of the eye. We will emphasize the diagnosis and treatment of more common diseases causing red eye in small animals to include conjunctivitis, corneal ulceration, primary inflammatory lesions, uveitis, glaucoma and retinal detachment. Emphasis will be placed on medical over surgical treatment of the diseases aforementioned, and we will discuss when to ideally refer the case to an ophthalmologist.
