Animal Eye Specialty Clinic
This lecture is aimed to give the general practitioner the knowledge about the course of the disease; multiple treatment options/modalities such as anti-virals; antibiotics; environmental enrichment; client education; and overall general knowledge of the possible ophthalmic manifestations that can occur secondary to feline herpesvirus, such as conjunctivitis, stromal keratitis, and corneal ulceration. Pharmacologic, medical and environmental considerations will be discussed which comply with current recommendations published in the gold standard textbook by Gelatt, Veterinary Ophthalmology, as well as distinguished journals such as Veterinary Ophthalmology, Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Journal of Veterinary Research.
