Gastrointestinal obstruction is a common condition that requires emergency and surgical interventions. The causes of obstruction that will be covered in the lecture include luminal obstruction, linear foreign bodies and intussusception. As a veterinarian, it important to recognize the clinical signs associated with obstructive disease and know how to best utilize the diagnostics available, while providing the optimal treatment of the patient.
