6th Annual Gulf-Atlantic Veterinary Conference
Newer diagnostic tools are available to aid in the management of dogs with lymphoma. These tests are being offered by all of the major laboratories and suggested in reports from dogs diagnosed with lymphoid malignancies. However these tests can be expensive, and it is imperative the clinician understands the difference between Flow and PARR and when each is indicated. Real cases of dogs with lymphoma will be utilized to help further understand what these tests are telling us and how to manage them based upon the results. Monoclonal antibody therapy for lymphoma, including the Aratana and Merial vaccines, will be discussed in terms of treatment schedule cost and efficacy. The new drug Tanovea will also be briefly discussed in terms of its use, efficacy and cost.
