Variable Refrigerant Control (VRF) systems have been widely used in Europe and Asia for some time. Over the past 5 to 10 years VRF technology has become increasing popular in the United States. With a higher efficiency and increased controllability, these systems can help achieve sustainability targets. This session will provide attendees with an overview of VRF technology, design and installation considerations, and methods to ensure a quality installation.

Adam Romano is Director of Training at the Association for Energy Affordability, Inc. and manages the day-to-day operations of AEA’s Energy Management Training Center. Adam manages relationships with various respected energy efficiency training groups, and leads a team of enthusiastic trainers who are committed to educating energy efficiency professionals across the country. Adam has developed training curriculum and conducted classroom, field, and interactive distance learning trainings in New York and nationwide for building operators, property managers, installation contractors, energy audit professionals, and program managers.
