ASHRAE Standard 62.2: What's New in 2016

ASHRAE Standard 62.2 continues to evolve. The 2016 edition has been published and there are significant changes. WAP and other program personnel need to understand what has changed, how it impacts them, and what they need to prepare for next. This session will provide a brief overview of what has changed from the 2013 to 2016 version, describe the extent to which these changes impact testing and fan sizing requirements, discuss other relevant changes, and prepare for the use of the 62.2-2016.

Residential Energy Dynamics, LLC

Rick Karg was trained as an economist, was a building contractor for ten years, and is now the president of R.J. Karg Associates and Residential Energy Dynamics, LLC. He has been working with weatherization and home performance programs and electric and gas utilities for thirty years as an educator and consultant. Rick is a member of the ASHRAE 62.2 residential ventilation and Residential Building Committees.

Paul W. Francisco

Sr. Research Engineer
Applied Research Institute

Paul Francisco runs the Indoor Climate Research & Training group, which includes an IREC-accredited weatherization training program, at the Applied Research Institute of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He does both research & training on issues related to home performance. His research focuses on indoor air quality and energy efficiency in existing homes, emphasizing field measurements. His training focuses on teaching practitioners building diagnostics and health & safety. He is the current chair of ASHRAE’s Standard 62.2.
