AC Tune-ups or Tuning Out?

Mark Jerome and Emily Kemper of CLEAResult discuss lessons learned from an AC Tune-up program, subsequent program redesigns and more robust trainings for HVAC contractors. The results show staggering improvements from conventional to a comprehensive AC Tune-up, with additional overall energy savings and improved contractor training and engagement. We'll also discuss the use of a technologically advanced HVAC data collection tool, and a database where the information is housed and utilized to inform program updates in real time.

Mark Jerome has nearly 30 years of experience in the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration industry. He has worked in all phases of the residential and commercial markets. Mark has been a voting member of the Regional Technical Forum since January 2007.
As a Senor Building Science Consultant with CLEAResult, Mark plays critical roles in several energy efficiency programs, providing program design, technical support and training for residential and commercial programs. Mark is also currently an inspector and program subject matter expert for the Performance Tested Comfort Systems’ Residential Heat Pump & Duct Sealing Programs.

Emily Kemper

Ms. Kemper is an Oregon-registered Architect and building science expert who manages CLEAResult’s Building Science & Engineering Team in support of energy efficiency programs and projects across the country. She leads company initiatives in search of energy savings in homes & buildings through research, design, and planning, and is a subject matter expert in the field of home energy management systems, connected devices, and sustainable and resilient design.  She is an active member of the residential building industry through her work on state and city code and development boards, and is a member of the AIA.
