2018 HPC National Conference Session

Kickin' and Trippin' over Knob and Tube

Wednesday, April 25
8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Location: Franklin 1 (4th Floor)
CEUs: BPI, InterNachi, NARI, ASHI

This session will present an effective new measure developed at CHN to address the problematic insulation/ knob and tube restrictions/requirements to allow effective thermal and pressure boundaries without expending limited Health and Safety funding. Attendees will also hear about thermal/pressure boundary effectiveness comparisons to current measures suggested by SWS. The session, beginning with a description of the new measure, will allow attendees to breakout by region with CHN field staff to gather measures others using. A presenter-directed discussion on the information from the participants from breakout will make this an engaging and informative session.
The intended take away of the session is to use the national platform to share information on this new requirement and allow combined engagement to develop innovative options using existing audit software, such as NEAT, to ensure energy efficient, cost effective, and compliant thermal and pressure boundaries in WAP projects with existing knob and tube wiring.
