Dr. Christopher S. Wenckus is the former head of the department of endodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, having taught for more than 45 years. He maintained a private practice limited to endodontics from 1974 to 2014 in downtown Chicago.
Dr. Wenckus received his DDS in 1971 from the UIC College of Dentistry.,
and his certificate in Endodontics from the UIC College of Dentistry in 1974.
Dr. Wenckus is a Life member of the ADA, ADEA, AAE, IAE, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society and the Motorcycling Doctors Association. He is a Diplomate of the ABE and served on the Board of Directors from 2002 to 2008. He is a Fellow and Charter Member of the College of Diplomates of the ABE and served on that Board and was the president in 2012. Dr. Wenckus was elected Director for District IV of the AAE in 1994 and was on the Board of Directors of the AAE from 1994 until 1997. He has served on many AAE committees. He was appointed to the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) in 2008 and completed his term in 2012 and during that time served as the Endodontic Review Committee chair. His is a member of the Motorcycling Doctors Association.
His awards include the E. Lloyd Du Brul Faculty Achievement from award from UIC in 2012 and the I.B. Bender Lifetime Educator Award from the AAE in 2015.
