CBCT has gained its popularity over time since the introduction to the endodontic field in the early 2000s. 3D technology certainly provides information that is not feasible with the conventional 2D radiographs. 3D imaging and the advancements in dental materials, techniques, and surgical micro-endodontics has a higher degree of success and greater predictable outcomes. More and more clinicians have been adopting 3D technology into their routine practices, however, the case selection, the benefits and the disadvantages of using this technology are still in discussion among endodontists. This presentation will provide a fundamental understanding of the CBCT technology, will review relevant literature and will discuss endodontic cases focusing on microsurgery treatment planning.
