Assistant Manager of Volunteer Engagement
Crystal Lee Stone is the Assistant Manager of Volunteer Engagement at the Exploratorium. Her love affair with museums began at the National Museum of Natural History at the age of three where she marveled at the curious objects they exhibited.
At the Exploratorium, Crystal is passionate about the growth she sees as volunteers and interns navigate the space and deepen their understanding of the world around them while enriching the staff and visitor experience. She draws upon a decade of informal education experience from the Maud Morgan Arts Center, Upward Bound, the White House Historical Association, and of course the Exploratorium. Crystal studied Visual Art and Psychology at Bowdoin College and Museum Studies at Harvard University and still actively pursues new learning opportunities. When she’s not at the Exploratorium, she teaches community yoga classes near Ocean Beach in San Francisco.
