Alexandra Torres is an Education Specialist at the United States Botanic Garden, with extensive experience in plant and environmental sciences. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Conservation of Natural Resources from Texas Tech University and a Master's degree in Plant Science from the University of Maryland. As a Certified Arborist she has a great love and respect for native plants of the Northeast and a keen understanding of the critical role that all plants and trees play in promoting long-term environmental health. At the Botanic Garden she develops educational programming that allows her to share her passion of plants with audiences ranging from youth through adult. She cares deeply about creating plant-based programming that is immersive and accessible to all, no matter experience or skill level. With a special interest in the intersection between the green world and health and wellness, she believes that plants have power to transform both our environment and lives.
