Vice President - Visitor Experience
Minnetrista
Rebecca Gilliam began her work with museums in 1999 at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis as Environmental Educator and Manager of Richey Woods Environmental Education Center. She continued working in the museum field at Hook’s Discovery and Learning Center as Director of Education and successfully brought science education to children and families through an outreach program called the Brain MotorVator. Since 2004, Rebecca has held the position of Vice President - Visitor Experience and leads a talented team of professionals that create dynamic experiences for the public. One of her proudest moments has been leading the institutional interpretive planning work for Minnetrista that included a brand refresh. The process and implementation led to a strong visitor-centered approach to the work of the institution. She also serves as Chair-Elect of the PR and Marketing (PRAM) Professional Network for the American Alliance of Museums, a national association that supports the museum field.
Being a part of her community is important for Rebecca. She has worked to become involved in organizations that serve the community. Included in these activities are licensed foster parent, Psi Iota Xi, Yorktown Tigers PTO, Rotary Club of Muncie and parishioner at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
