Sue Goganian has been director of Historic Beverly, the historical society for the city of Beverly, Massachusetts for 10 years. Historic Beverly has 3 historic properties and a collection of nearly 750,000 objects and documents related to the history of Beverly and Essex County. Sue came to Beverly from the Boston Harbor Association, which she was director of operations, and spent 10 years at the Bostonian Society as Site Director and Director of Education and Public Programs. She is a member of the board of directors of the New England Museum Association, the Essex National Heritage Commission, and Beverly Main Streets, and is the co-chair for AAM’s Historic House and Sites Network. She also serves on the Boston Landmarks Commission and the Fort Point Channel Landmark District Commission. Sue juggles multiple responsibilities in her job, and knows the joys and challenges that come with managing historic properties. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, tennis, reading, and good food and wine.
