John Olson began his career as a war photographer. At 21 years old he became the youngest photographer ever hired to the staff of LIFE Magazine. For decades he traveled the world as a photojournalist until one day, reflecting on how important images had been on his life, he began to wonder what it was like for those who couldn’t see art or photographs. In 2008, working in cooperation with the National Federation of the Blind, he set out to develop a means by which blind people could access visual information. Today, 3DPhotoWorks Tactile Fine Art Printing is displayed at 9 museums throughout the U.S. and Canada.
