International Arts & Artists
With over 27 years of experience in Canadian and American art and historic house museums, in January 2019 Lise Dube-Scherr was appointed President and CEO of International Arts & Artists, a Washington, DC based non-profit organization dedicated to increasing cross-cultural understanding and exposure to the arts internationally through exhibitions, programs, and services to artists, arts institutions, and the public.
As the former Director of Museum Affairs at The Preservation Society of Newport County (Newport Mansions), Lise led the museum division including curatorial, exhibitions, conservation, collections, interpretation, and public programming for its eleven historic properties. From 2011-2017, Lise served as the Executive Director of The Richard H. Driehaus Museum, a decorative arts museum housed in a fully restored Gilded Age mansion in Chicago, IL.
Lise leverages her extensive experience in audience development to create visitor-centered exhibitions and programs to foster increased visitor engagement and attendance. At both the Driehaus Museum and the Newport Mansions, she developed and advanced ambitious new exhibition programs in unconventional settings to diversify and expand traditional historic house museum offerings.
