Director of Technology and Digital Initiatives
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
Jeff Guin is a digital strategist who specializes in helping people and institutions leverage technology to “own” their history and advocate for heritage resources. At Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, he works to strategically integrate adoption of technologies to support preservation, staff work and visitor engagement.
Before coming to Vizcaya, he managed the digital function of museums in Philadelphia and Miami. In 2008, he spearheaded the first social media strategic plan at a National Park Service agency. The agency specialized in the development of technologies for preservation purposes. Drawing on this experience, he initiated a program of 3D laser scanning at Vizcaya that is helping to preserve its heritage resources while providing innovative interpretive experiences for visitors onsite and online.
