Happy Colon Foods LLC

Created by ACG member Dr. Jeff D. Scott of Oklahoma City, Happy Colon Foods is a new colon prep regimen that addresses many patients' common objections to colonoscopy and improves utilization. Happy Colon Foods is a standardized, low-residue solid food regimen. It contains three meals, three snacks and flavored colorless drink mixes that can be combined with physician approved OTC laxatives or prescription preps. With its unique dosing schedule, it mimics a typical day and removes many disruptive side effects like bloating, nausea, vomiting and cramping - since food is included, patients do not get hungry.
Does it work? Yes! A recent study demonstrated ~98% successful prep rate with a mean BBPS of 8.0, 99% cecal intubation rate and 46% ADR. Patients at high risk for poor preps were not excluded.
