This symposium addresses key global challenges in TBI, namely chronic effects, inadequate access to rehabilitation services, and elusive successful reintegration of TBI survivors. It presents evidence on the chronic effects of TBI in the Cypriot cohort with its unique genetic and societal characteristics. Furthermore, lack of systematic rehabilitation services in Cyprus allows for the investigation of the true effects of chronic TBI. We will provide strategies to improve access to rehabilitation services and efforts to help survivors reach full potential through the presentation of innovative policy and advocacy initiatives in the UK via the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum.
