This symposium will review the existing measurement scales available for assessment of the Post-Traumatic Confusional State (PTCS) based on PTCS case definition recently developed by the ACRM Brain Injury Interdiciplinary Special Interest Group. Because none of the currently available measures fully address all aspects of the PTCS case definition, recommendations will be made for improving existing instruments or creating a new instrument.

Learning Objectives:

• Identify key elements of the phenomenology of the Post-Traumatic Confusional State (PTCS).
• List current measures that come closest to meeting requirements for a strong measure of PTCS.
• Describe possible changes to improve current instruments and/or the process of developing a new measure to address all requirements for a strong measure of TBI.
