In this symposium, we present the findings of our research, whose main objectives were a) to design and develop a haptics and augmented reality based, 'exergames' system and b) to evaluate the feasibility and functional outcomes of this system in a sample of patients with mobility impairment post-stroke. We will discuss the results of our study including game-performance and exercise adherence data, change in their functional outcomes over a month of system use at home, and goal attainment data from this population. We will then discuss benefits and barriers of using such game-based home exercises in the chronic disabled population.
