There is an increase in prevalence of Nontuberculous Mycobacteria pulmonary infections due to improvement in diagnostic capabilities and the aging population. Overall quality of life for patients with Nontuberculous Mycobacteria can become significantly impaired due to the disease process and the medication side effects. Multiple Physical Therapy specialties can help improve their quality of life. Chest Physical Therapy for secretion clearance and lung expansion to prevent further damage to the lungs and control dyspnea. Pulmonary Rehabilitation can increase strength and endurance. Vestibular Physical Therapy aims to improve stability with ambulation, risk for falling and subsequent injury.
