Liz Whitley, Med, ATC is a certified athletic trainer at the Banner Sports Medicine and Concussion Center. Ms. Whitley is the coordinator of the Brainstamp program, through which she and her team provide mobile and in-clinic baseline cognitive and vestibular evaluation for youth athletes around the greater Phoenix area. In addition, she serves as the liaison between the concussion clinic and area athletic trainers to provide continuity of care throughout the concussion recovery process. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training. She then continued her studies at Arizona State University and graduated with a Master of Education degree in Higher and Post-Secondary Education. She has been working as a licensed Athletic Trainer for the past 10 years, providing care to collegiate and adolescent athletes in a variety of settings, including academic institutions, sports teams, and sports medicine outpatient clinics. In addition, Ms. Whitley works through the clinic to provide community outreach and coordinates a regular CE lecture series for area ATCs and other interested professionals. Ms. Whitley’s academic interests include sport-related concussion and athlete development.
