Laura Gilchrist PT, PhD is a clinical research scientist with the Cancer and Blood Disorders Program at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of MN and a Professor of Physical Therapy at St. Catherine University. She began working with the pediatric oncology population at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of MN in 2007 and currently has over 20 publications on oncology rehabilitation. Her primary research is in the area of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in children undergoing treatment for cancer. She lead the adaptation of an adult measure for use in school-aged children and adolescents (the pediatric-modified Total Neuropathy Score), investigated the recovery of CIPN after the end of treatment in a longitudinal study, and examined the relationship between CIPN and motor function.
