Marwan Baliki PhD is a Research Scientist at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and an assistant professor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University. He received his PhD in Neuroscience from Northwestern University. His research seeks to define the brain neural mechanisms underlying the processing and modulation of clinical chronic pain. His research encompasses both novel methodological and theoretical constructs that enable us to formulate physiological and behavioral models to study chronic pain. He has started a new collaboration with Dr. Cherney using multi-modal imaging techniques to explore the brain circuitry underlying aphasia.
