I work as Senior Research Associate for Partners of Refugees in Illinois Disability Employment (PRIDE), Department of Disability and Human Development, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I oversee all financial transactions related to the PRIDE including contracts, purchase orders, allocation of funds and the monitoring of budgets. I also work for the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Developmental Disabilities and Health (RRTCDD), Department of Disability and Human Development for the Longitudinal Health and Intellectual and Developmental Health Study (LHIDDS) and as a business manager for Family Support Research and Training Center (FSRTC), Department of Disability and Human Development, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I am a Doctoral Candidate in PhD in Disability Studies at UIC. I have a Bachelors degree in Medicine & Surgery from India and a Masters in Public Health degree from Northwestern University, Chicago. I worked as Project Coordinator for a Randomized Controlled Trial to Reduce Risk of Falls in Adults with ID at RRTCDD, UIC. UIC has provided me with the necessary research background in the field of developmental disabilities, and in particular, intellectual disabilities. I have extensive experience in data management and have performed data collection, cleaning and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. I have also analyzed complex datasets in SPSS including survey studies and secondary analyses. I have monitored overall study performance and budget tracking, assisted with manuscripts, papers, and presentations— including literature reviews, editing, formatting, and writing— and have also assisted with researching, preparing, and processing grant proposals and grant continuations. My experience as a Project Coordinator has endowed me with the capabilities of managing daily operations for NIDRR-funded studies at RRTCDD involving multidisciplinary teams of colleagues, sponsors & other external project stakeholders, managing data, disseminating critical project information, and supervising the implementation of study protocols. I also manage daily administrative operations for Family Support Research and Training Center, oversee all financial transactions related to FSRTC grants including contracts, invoices, allocation of funds and the monitoring of budgets and draft annual project reports for the grant sponsor.
