Dr. LaDonna Saxon is a licensed psychologist who currently serves in multiple roles within the Department of Veterans Affairs. Nationally she serves as a trainer and consultant for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain, Motivational Interviewing, and Motivational Enhancement Therapy. At her local facility, the VA North Texas Health Care System (Dallas), she currently provides direct clinical care and supervises trainees in the areas of chronic pain management, behavioral sleep medicine, primary care mental health integration, and health promotion and disease prevention activities. She also holds a faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Prior to her role as the co-manager of the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention program at VANTHCS, she served as a member of hospice and palliative care & spinal cord injury/rehabilitation teams within the VHA and received specialized training in Behavioral Medicine, Consultation & Liaison services, Post-Traumatic Stress, Substance Use Disorders, and inpatient and outpatient Chronic Pain Rehabilitation.
