Clinical Practice (assessment, diagnosis, treatment, knowledge translation/EBP, implementation science, program development)
In this symposium, you will identify your cultural beliefs and values and reflect on how these may influence interactions with persons with cancer and their caregivers. Strategies will be taught on how to communicate effectively to persons with cancer and their caregivers from a variety of cultures. Lastly, you will have an opportunity to practice applying these strategies within situations that may occur. These strategies will be directed toward creating culturally safe environments and developing a culturally sensitive care plan with a person with cancer.
