An overview of the role of different lifestyle factors in influencing multiple sclerosis (MS) prognosis. We will briefly discuss studies related to vitamin D and its association with MS disease course; most of the talk will focus more generally on emerging studies on other aspects of diet (including overall dietary patterns). We will cover potential biological mechanisms linking diet with MS course as well as existing studies and future directions. We will also briefly discuss the potential role of diet and accompanying mechanisms in other neurologic diseases.
