Cognitive impairment is a significant concern for patients with brain tumors, and can substantially jeopardize functioning and quality of life. Timely and effective rehabilitation is crucial in optimizing functioning in those diagnosed with brain tumors. The goal of this symposium is to present an overview of the current state of the science on cognitive impairment and rehabilitation in patients with a primary brain tumor diagnosis. Our panel of experts will cover a range of topics including risk and mechanisms of cognitive impairment, assessment considerations, and in-depth discussion of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation strategies and the evidence behind them.
