Women’s health after SCI is an important research and clinical area. The presentation will highlight the mission and goals of the Women’s Health Task Force by sharing current findings on pelvic health, including bladder concerns for women with SCI and their relation to sexuality, pregnancy, and parenting. Special emphasis will be given to the need for accessible resources and appropriate measures on pelvic health for women with SCI, and other physical disabilities.

Learning Objectives:

• Describe the current knowledge on how bladder functioning affects sexual health, pregnancy, and parenting for women with SCI.
• Identify barriers to obtaining pelvic health information that are specific to women with SCI.
• Describe the need for accessible medical practitioners and information resources for women with SCI related to pelvic health.
• Identify areas for future research and education addressing gaps in knowledge and clinical practice for improving the pelvic health of women with SCI.
• Identify the joys and challenges of pregnancy and parenting for women with SCI.
