Dr. Black received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of
Illinois, Urbana, in 1984. He was a Researcher with the General Electric Research and Development Center and an Assistant Professor of Radiology with Duke University, and an Executive/ Co-Founder of several medical device companies. He has been an Adjunct Professor with the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering, The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and North Carolina State University, Raleigh. He is currently a Principal with Scion NeuroStim, a development stage neuromodulation company. Dr. Black is a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.
