Amma Agyemang, PhD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine. She is Co-Director of the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs-jointly funded Chronic Effects of Neurotrauma Consortium (CENC). CENC is a coordinated, multicenter, research collaboration that seeks to effectively address the diagnostic challenges and therapeutic ramifications of mild traumatic brain injury and its potential long-term effects. Dr. Agyemang is also a Diversity Scholar through the National Institutes of Health-funded Research Supplement to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research. Her research focuses on understanding the psychological underpinnings of chronic medical conditions and translating this knowledge into interventions that can improve adjustment.
