The dental team consists of several vital members: dentist, dental hygienist and dental assistant. The dental team provides patient care and facilitates issues related to access to care. In most teaching institutions students do not perform as a dental team, but as isolated entities providing patient services. But upon graduation they are expected to work as dental team with very little preparation to do so. Participants will learn how various dental institutions address this to prepare graduates for dental practice.

Learning Objectives:

Identify strategies to utilize in their dental clinics.
Determine the amount of dental team collaboration at their institutions.
Demonstrate knowledge of the roles of the dental team.
