Success in the dental profession requires excellence in communication, critical thinking, health promotion and habit change, practice management, professionalism, ethical decision-making, managing medical complexities and technical skill. Existing pathways to licensure focus heavily on technical skill, however schools have found multiple ways of assessing contemporary domains. In this session, you will learn about existing pathways for initial dental licensure across the U.S. You will also brainstorm with your colleagues about ways to enhance existing licensure pathways to incorporate assessment of contemporary domains.
