90 Minute Seminar
Educational Programs, Workshops, Seminars, New Idea Session, and Small Group Discussions
In the current era of collaboration, our students are accustomed to team projects, group websites and interprofessional education. Should we be surprised, then, when we discover some of our students collaborate to cheat? Presenters experienced in contending with such behavior will present the research on what situations entice students to help each other cheat. Discussion will continue on forms of collaborative cheating, how to deter it and who should receive what severity of disciplinary action. Unique associated risks like media attention or legal action will be explored. Participants will leave armed with best practices for detecting and deterring collaborative cheating.
