Janet K Lee made her first foray into illustration in 2010 by co-creating RETURN OF THE DAPPER MEN with writer Jim McCann. RETURN OF THE DAPPER MEN garnered a record-setting five Eisner nominations, winning the award for Best New Graphic Album. Lee went on to illustrate the Marvel Comics adaptations of two of Jane Austen's novels, Emma and Northanger Abbey as well as six other books and anthologies. Her subsequent work has received both Harvey and Eisner nominations. Janet K Lee's newest book SEA SIRENS, a middle-grade graphic novel about the fantastic adventures of a girl named Trot and her surfing cat who visit the mermaid kingdom, goes on sale June 11, 2019 from Viking. Janet remains active in her local art community, teaching comics workshops in partnership with her local library. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband, her son, two good dogs, and four very bad cats.
